Why the word “buffered” matters
The ingredient list names both magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium oxide. We therefore describe it as a buffered blend, rather than pure unbuffered bisglycinate. That distinction is relevant if you are searching for a specific formulation.
The label information here does not give a basis for calculating exactly how much of the elemental magnesium comes from each form. We do not invent that split or assume the formulation behaves identically to another glycinate product.
The real cost of a serving
£12.99 divided by 60 two-capsule servings gives approximately 21.7p per serving before delivery. A one-tub standard-delivery basket at the published £1.99 postage rate totals £14.98, or about 25.0p per two-capsule serving delivered.
The displayed two-tub offer was £21.98 in total, equivalent to £10.99 each. It requires buying two tubs; £10.99 is not the one-tub price. At two capsules per serving, those tubs supply 120 servings in total, approximately 18.3p each before any change to checkout conditions.
A one-tub subscription showed £11.69, with recurring-order terms. See the Simply Supplements offer checks for delivery, subscription and approved-code information.
How long does a tub last?
At the label’s lower one-capsule amount, 120 capsules last 120 days; at two capsules, they last 60 days. The stated 300mg elemental figure belongs to the two-capsule serving. Combining a 120-day supply claim with that figure would overstate how long that serving lasts.
These calculations explain the label, not which amount you should take. Use professional advice where needed and account for magnesium in other products.
Strengths and limitations
- Useful detail: the elemental amount, serving basis, full ingredients and capsule dimensions are published.
- Pack economics: the larger tub can reduce unit cost, provided you need that quantity.
- Formulation limitation: it includes oxide and does not meet a requirement for an unbuffered bisglycinate-only formula.
- Buyer consideration: capsule size, ingredients and medicine compatibility can matter more than the headline compound weight.
The capsule size may matter if you find larger capsules difficult to swallow. We cannot turn the supplied dimensions into a claim that it is easy for everyone to take. Retailer statements about gentle digestion should be assessed against the evidence for the specific formulation.
Our buying assessment
This is a clearly specified buffered magnesium option with a relatively large pack. It is worth comparing if the blend and capsule format match your needs. Do not choose it solely because “1500mg” looks larger than another product’s elemental figure.
Our Together marine magnesium review provides a different formulation example, and the magnesium buying guide explains how to compare the two without implying equal doses or effects.
